Gentrification is here

Really good area with lot of stuff near by.
Cons:
The kitchens are so small it’s uncomfortable.

Decrease rent with those tiny kitchens

The only good thing here is if you have cheap rent, and even then is it worth it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cheap rent, location
Cons:
lying and unresponsive landlord, waste of space super, lack of common area cleanliness, tons of rats, lack of heat, lack of safety, windows older than my grandma, nothing gets fixed, bedbugs, faulty wiring, exterior doors without proper locks, shitty loud and dirty street
Advice to owner:
Property owner should fix things properly the first time. property owner should hire a competent super that speaks English or at least attempts to understand google translate. Property owner should hire professionals to fix things.

Not a place to call home
Former Tenant
Pros:
Cheap rent if you are lucky
Cons:
Maintenance, bad dishonest super that pretends to not speak English , lack of responsiveness, dirty, broken buzzer, unsecured doors, rats, roaches, mold, mushrooms growing out of some walls, rampant with bedbugs for over a year and landlord did not follow the law or notify tenants, illegal repairs when there are repairs, broken heat, terrible landlord
Advice to owner:
Do better and take care of the building

Could be better
Former Tenant
Pros:
This is one of the few old affordable buildings left in Williamsburg.
Cons:
It is unfortunately infested with roaches and rats. Some tenants are extremely loud and no one stops them. The hallways and surfaces are not washed regularly, the front door does not lock unless pulled shut, there were a few months where the front door was completely missing a lock. This block has gang activity, gunshots, fireworks, loud music into the late hours of the night. Sometimes there are so many people hanging out outside, you can’t even pass through the sidewalk. The superintendent does not take adequate care of the building or the area outside the building.
Advice to owner:
Elect a more effective superintendent who cares to do a good job and doesn’t lie to you.
