Beautiful apartment, nice landlord, tricky laws
Former Tenant
Pros:
Gorgeous spacious apartment Two full bathrooms in my three bedroom unit Responsive, responsible landlord with superintendent on site Smaller building so noise wasn't so bad
Cons:
Persistent pest problem (roaches and mice) Came onto a lease with two strangers. Toward the end of our lease, landlord let us know there was a balance that need to be paid. Two roommates moved out and then I was told that one of them had not been paying and the first order of business for the landlord and his lawyer was to evict me since I had signed a new lease. It was one of the most stressful experiences of my life that was completely unfair and the only reason I didn't wind up being evicted was because I was able to secure a lawyer who eventually came up with a compromise between us.
Advice to owner:
Petition for lease riders to be available to tenants
