good location, meh bldg
Former Tenant
Pros:
location is great
Cons:
no gas for a month and no hot water for 2 wks, they blamed it on coned but we're 99% sure it's because of this covered up unit on the 1st floor they had to open the wall to get inside of can be noisy outside but you're living on avenue A so it makes sense overpriced for what it is

Perfect for your worst enemy
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apartment itself is cute. There’s great light if you’re on a top floor. Good location although you’ll find that to be true in other buildings around here too. Our apartment has not had pests but a lot of people have.
Cons:
There are so many issues with this apartment. We have had the ceiling cave in, no running water for days, and no gas for over a month. Packages get stolen constantly. The building management does not listen, will not make concessions, won’t put in cameras, and won’t find solutions for the water or the gas. Living NY is the worst management I have ever experienced by a long shot. I would not recommend living in a building they own to anyone, which is unfortunate since they’re buying a lot of EV buildings. The stairways are fairly dirty always and the building itself is extremely old so it naturally has some grime.
Advice to owner:
Respond to your tenants so they have a livable environment

Awful Rats & Bugs
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nothing. The area outside of the building is nice.
Cons:
Rats. Cockroach’s everywhere. Damaged roof where it leaks in apartment 21. Lived there for 2 years and they never fully fixed it (would just put semipermanent plaster and then it would rain and leak again) so we chose to move out due to the negligence.
There also was a dangerous homeless person who used to lurk outside of the 7/11 late at night. Attacked a friend of ours once when we were coming home.
Advice to owner:
Fix the roof. Fix the rat and mouse problem. Get a pest control company to fix the infestation.

You’re paying for the location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Its in alphabet city, above a 7/11 and close to pretty much everything. A trader joes and target opened up a few blocks away in the last few years. There’s great restaurants and bars around.
Cons:
The apartment I had was tiny and expensive. Because its on the corner of 11th and A don’t be surprised if you’re woken up in the middle of the night. The streets are noisy. I had mice for the entire time I was there, the only thing management did was give me some glue traps(I was on the second floor). It would get HOT all the time, summer and winter. There was a pipe in the bathroom that burned my ass multiple times. The shower door wasn’t installed correctly so I would flood the bathroom every time I took a shower.

Fine experience but not if anything breaks
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, big kitchen
Cons:
Management never responded, let things go unfixed for the 3 years we lived there despite reaching out often
