Noisy Neighbors Suck
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Laundry in the building and people are generally respectful of the space -Heat / hot water consistent in winter -Sun hits in the morning, but not as much in the afternoon, so the apartment stays fairly cool in the summer with the shades open
Cons:
-some neighbors have dogs that bark all day; the noise carries through the bathroom vents so it sounds like the barking is in your apartment ^that applies to a lot of sounds. And smells. I can hear my neighbors’ conversation clearly though the vents and I can often smell their cooking. -ceiling / floor noise is super loud. I think my upstairs neighbors wear sneakers inside so it’s clomp clomp clomp anytime they walk. They also have small children who wake up at 6:30, so *we* wake up at 6:30. You can hear closets open, people sneezing/coughing, you can hear loud arguments clearly. -you gotta give the water a good 10 minutes to warm up in the spring / summer -someone always seems to play loud loud music like they’re in a band and it is nonstop bass for hours at a time -neighbors have stolen my packages multiple times just to return them opened weeks later - what? -the management company is absolutely useless; they hire contractors and brokers who do a half-ass job and they never check on the apartment directly -the owner of the property visited the apartment today and said “wow this is in pretty good condition” and I mentioned how the pipes turn the water brown after sitting out for a day and he said “must be city-wide” -the faucet in the shower drips nonstop and due to the water/pipes issue I just described in the previous bullet, it leaves brown and black stains in the shower after just one week
