If you fight for your rights you might find it livable
Former Tenant
Pros:
Neighbors are friendly. Is mostly clean. Good neighborhood. Lots of storage in unit.
Cons:
Lock broken so squatters use basement, somewhat noisy stairwell, tenant churn, no laundry, damage not repaired quickly (only when apt in bldg is showing), have cockroaches and mice, terrible communication—sent plumber without notifying us first despite leak not coming from our unit. Refused to turn on heat for a year. Only do required maintenance when you remind them of law.
Advice to owner:
Respect tenants. Talk to tenants like adults.
