Old building being ignored
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to the 6 train. Can get over to the Harlem River shopping area easily. As 3rd street continues to change this location will become better.
Cons:
Unsecured trash cans that are constantly dumped with non-tenant objects, there have been mattresses at times. Rats constantly run from inside the overfilled cans. Roaches (German and American), make sure to get all the stuff you need to keep them under control. Appliances are very dated, some tenants have said they had broken appliances when moving in and had to argue to get them replaced. The neighboring building has tenant issues that get bad every summer. Strangers are constantly sitting on the front stairs.
Advice to owner:
Start upgrading your units soon or you'll miss out on the opportunity that comes with change. Continue to ignore and laze about this building and you'll end up losing it one day.

Good place to live in East Harlem
Former Tenant
Pros:
Clean building, close to the subway
Cons:
The building is next to a half way house
Advice to owner:
Tell the tenants to stop playing loud music
