Beware: rat on street and in apartments
Former Tenant
Pros:
Near Columbia, large living space
Cons:
We had an infestation of rats (on second floor) due to holes in the wall, the super came multiple times to fix it and the rats kept coming in. We talked to others in the building that had same problem. There were also always tons of rats on the street due to trash. Ended up terminating lease early. Washer took forever to dry, the entrance to building was broken and unlocked for months and the super didn’t fix it

Not gonna live there again
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to Columbia University, and lots of restaurants. Rooms except for the smallest are all quite spacious, high ceiling.
Cons:
Lots of buildings on that block on 109th street are pest infested. Apartment had mice and cockroaches.
This apartment has many bedrooms but just one bathroom, so a little crowded

A good place to live near Columbia
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, our apartment was renovated and so was beautiful.
Cons:
There are a lot of rats on 109th street at night. The super is unresponsive on text/call and will often ghost you. Cockroaches and house fly infestations.
Advice to owner:
Please improve the responsiveness to apartment maintenance requests. Can something be done to fix the rat situation?
