YOU CAN HEAR EVERYTHING
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good location. Renovated bathrooms. Decent laundry situation. Reasonable rent.
Cons:
You can hear every single noise in the building no matter what floor you’re on. The walls/ceilings/floors are paper thin. Be prepared to hear your neighbors cough in the apartment next door. I’m not talking regular apartment noise, this is exceptionally bad. And on top of that, there are neighbors who play loud music and two yappy dogs in the building.
Advice to owner:
Consider noise proofing each unit as tenants move out.

Basic but gets the job done
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location was convenient
Cons:
Terrible insulation between neighbors. You can hear your upstairs neighbor walk around and also your next door neighbor close their closet. No privacy.

Noise Alert - Do not move in to this building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great and the apartment is cute and renovated, but the construction was done poorly and they charge a high rent.
Cons:
This building is a nightmare for the light sleepers and for working from home professionals. The ceiling and walls are so thin, you can hear every step of your upstairs neighbors and the alarm clock and conversations of your neighbor you share the bedroom wall with. The floors are super squeaky and if you have someone above you, you’ll hear it as s/he walks right by you. The smell also travels within the whole building, so when your neighbor smokes weed inside the apartment, you’ll smell it in your apartment too.
The management company will only seem friendly, but won’t do a thing to help you with your repair request. It also takes them weeks to get back to you.
Advice to owner:
The owner should take care of his/her tenants, because they are the ones paying the high rents.
It’s better to keep tenants for few years than to look for new ones, but nobody would won’t to stay here if their repair request are not being taken care of and if the tenants are treated poorly.
