Review Summary for Wallack Management Company, Inc
Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenants generally find WALLACK MANAGEMENT COMPANY, INC to manage buildings that are well-maintained, clean, and staffed with friendly, responsive superintendents and doormen. Many appreciate the community feel and quiet atmosphere in these buildings, along with timely maintenance responses. However, issues such as occasional pest problems, noise in certain locations, and the occasional slow response to maintenance requests appear in some buildings. Some renters mention older building infrastructure with minor inconveniences like lack of in-unit laundry or small apartment sizes. While several buildings have excellent management reputations, a few buildings show challenges with pest control, heating, and responsiveness, signaling room for improvement in specific locations.

It was fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
It was a good apartment to have as a young person. Close to lots of subway lines, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. landlord/management is chill and low maintenance
Cons:
Very small apartment with no oven + fridge is just a mini fridge, but they’re upfront about this. I didn’t have pests but some neighbors said they did

Well Kept Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Management takes good care of the place.
Cons:
Not much. I would prefer an in unit w/d but washers and drivers are on each floor so it's not too bad.

Classic pre-war building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartments are large and priced well, Super is really nice and responsive. Price doesn't increase drastically each time I resign the lease.
Cons:
It's a classic pre war building, apartments are clean when you move in but nothing extraordinary. Older appliances, but I'd rather pay less than have everything brand new.

Good area, good first apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great area, nice kitchen, new appliances, hardwood floor and tile
Cons:
No control of heat, the plumbing is very loud from other units, landlord not responsive to requests for maintenance, dirty common areas, hard to get packages delivered.
Advice to owner:
Do better

Solid walk up
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet, neighbors kept to themselves, relatively clean, super Izet is a really nice guy overall and pretty quick to help. Management co is pretty easy to work with, but they don’t negotiate much. The apartments are classic NY walk ups, with some charm and the dust/many layers of paint that come with it. Lots of space but weird layouts so it’s not all usable.
Cons:
Super could sometimes be hard to get a hold of (wanted to only stop in for repairs in the middle of the day, which is challenging if you work office hours). Package theft is definitely a problem. Stairs very narrow and steep, even for a walk up- made moving a challenge. Trash management was unclear at times. Double locking doors with two separate keys (rather than a fob) got annoying at times. Steam heat was aggressively hot half the year. If you want your whole deposit back, you have to grease the hand of the super.

Former Tenant
Pros:
Privacy and decent space
Cons:
Hard to contact anyone for maintenance, or anyone in charge really. The roof needs work so water damage on the ceiling occurred.
Advice to owner:
Be more responsive to tenants.

Excellent, well-managed building to rent or buy in
Former Tenant
Pros:
Top-notch doormen and maintenance staff
Responsive, competent management
Modern, newly renovated lobbies
Verizon FiOS fiber available
Cons:
Elevators occasionally have issues and are a little slow relative to newer buildings. There are 2 elevators though, so it was very rare for both to be out of service at same time.
