Nick Baker is a borderline slumlord
Pros
Location is good, neighbors are nice, pets are allowed, the street is quiet(er). Parking spots available from the landlord that are moderately priced compared to others in the area.
Cons
COCKROACHES. GERMAN COCKROACHES, THE WORST KIND. THERE IS VERY BAD PEST INFESTATION. August 2022 was when cockroaches first appeared, landlord didn't do anything about it until almost a year later when he BLAMED the residents and their pets for the roaches. He did not order a full building treatment for the roaches until February of 2024 (a year and a half after first report of cockroaches). Still cockroaches as I'm writing this, in March of 2024. Nick is borderline unhinged, as he has threatened tenants and taken retaliatory actions against them like raising rent so high they are forced to move. The rent is very high. He definitely messes with the heat and the hot water pressure. He doesn't respond to texts very well, even though his read receipts are on so you can see that he read your text. The basement is disgusting and full of old junk, kind of like a hoarder's basement. The laundry machines in the building are filthy and super expensive. He does not treat the sidewalks or driveway when it snows or ices. There's a porch pirate who regularly targets the mailroom for packages to steal. Some tenants have complained of mice. He is not quick or reliable when it comes to sending maintanence to repair pressing issues. Basically every bad thing about a landlord applies to Nick Baker. Avoid him / Goldstein Investment Group.
