Once a Good Value
Former Tenant
Pros:
It's in a a great location and neighborhood, and the building, which is over 130 years old, is in decent overall condition.
Cons:
Rent has gone up by 15% year-over-year-over-year. It's entirely unsustainable, and the area has cheaper, luxury, new-construction buildings. It also doesn't help that you have to _go to a different building_ to access the "in-building laundry." Additionally, the building has zero insulation, and heat is "provided" with an entirely inadequate Heat Pump system that costs >$400/month in the coldest parts of the year.
Advice to owner:
Keep driving up rental rates and you'll keep driving away renters.
