Amazing apartment: location, updated, spacious
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location cannot be beat. Right in the heart of Back Bay and Newbury St. My 2 roommates and I moved here directly after college graduation, but it definitely is not your typical dingy post-grad apartment. We lived here for 2 years, and the only reason we are leaving is because some of us are moving out of Boston. The kitchen is newly updated with tons of storage, there is enough room for a dining table and a huge couch in the open living space. There is one massive room and two smaller rooms by comparison, but we adjusted rent accordingly amongst the three of us. Great apartment!
Cons:
Not necessarily a con, but a good thing to know: the building manager lives above apartment 3 (in the only other residential apartment in building). He is also the landlord's nephew. The no noise after 10pm rule is strict - so don't expect to host any late night parties or gatherings. However, during the day there is no problem, especially if you let the upstairs neighbors know about it beforehand.
Also Enzo hair salon below the apartment (great people & stylists btw!) plays upbeat music on Fridays and Saturdays. It's noticeable, but not a problem. I work from home and it was never an issue. It might wake you up on a Saturday morning if you sleep in & are a light sleeper.
We have also seen 1-2 mice over our 2 years living here (nothing uncommon for the area / an historic building). Pest control was always been swiftly sent to our apartment once we reported the issue to our building manager. Both times, the exterminator said it was likely a one-off issue and nothing to be concerned about.
