worst landlord ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
- beautiful apt, newly renovated - great neighborhood - two decks
Cons:
Renee is the craziest and worst landlord I’ve ever had. She gaslit me and my roommates any time something in the apartment broke, she’d open our doors without notice or permission, she insisted on having access to our deck because it was “her house.” We had a mouse in our kitchen and they blamed our compost bin for it and made us wait days to come deal with it. She also basically threatened to break our lease when my roommate brought up the subject of an emotional support pet (which she had full documentation for). Not to mention she herself had a dog living in her upstairs apartment, and had allowed our downstairs neighbors to have pets too. At one point, she even had a problem with me hanging my Mezuzah on the front of our door - which made me feel deeply uncomfortable.
Advice to owner:
Be better.

Insane landlord but charming apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very cute and spacious with a nice new kitchen. Lovely to have two decks in this neighborhood with lots of trees. We communicated with the landlord through her realtor, Leah, for a while which was much more pleasant and reasonable.
Cons:
Landlord was very possessive and threatening, claiming we couldn’t out furniture on “her” decks or saying that this “wasn’t working out” because of miscommunications which obviously made us nervous. She also refused a reasonable accommodation to the no pets policy for an emotional support pet and got her lawyer to threaten our lease. Ultimately, she only returned $200 of our $2800 security deposit because we scratched up the floors and used command strips on the walls
Advice to owner:
Loosen up! Don’t discriminate
