Not a bad building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super, Gabriel, is very kind and willing to help if you reach out about any maintenance issues with your apartment. The noise level on the non-street facing side is pretty good - I can’t hear my neighbors at all and can very rarely hear noises from the street.
Cons:
The trash chutes on each floor don’t work, and nobody has tried to fix them in the year that I’ve lived here. The large windows in our apartment don’t close all the way so during the winter cold air gets in and our apartment is always at least 3 or 4 degrees colder than the thermostat says. The staircase to walk up is pretty dirty and it always smells like subway (the sandwich shop) below the apartments.

Bad Landlord = Bad Building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, tall ceilings.
Cons:
Have a hundred+ stories about 21 Maiden, but simply put: a bad landlord will give you a bad building (and in this case, an extremely bad/ unsafe/ health violating building).

Old but decent
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly neighbours, feels secure, good water pressure (important).
Cons:
Lift is slow, not always super clean in common areas.
Advice to owner:
Parcels are frequently left scattered around the entrance area; it would be good to ensure that these are stored only in the package room.

Can't complain!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, size/price of apartments. Chill building, easy lease and renewal and change from tenant to tenant.
Cons:
Laundry room leaky, people put all their trash in there to avoid the basement. Saw rats in basement trash room but only at one point during the 5 years I lived there. NEVER saw rats or anything in my unit.
Advice to owner:
Take care of it to keep the rats out so that tenants don't mind going to the trash room. And take care of the laundry room.

Budget friendly for FiDi
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location, proximity to everything, responsive superintendent, elevator, nice neighbors, rent paid via check
Cons:
Bad isolation, apartment very old, dirty laundry room, elevator breaks often.
Advice to owner:
Update common areas in the building - especially laundry and garbage rooms
