Rude and Arrogant Landlord

Pros:
The building was mostly clean, the neighbors were friendly, no major noise issues.
Cons:
The landlord (who is also the superintendent), was very rude. It was near impossible to reach him through his cell phone, or by knocking on his door. In addition, he would accuse tenants of causing damage to the building that was preexisting. He also took out an unnecessary amount of money out of my security deposit based on "crumbs under the oven," and even withheld a fellow tenant's security deposit in entirety.
Advice to owner:
Stop taking advantage of young people and the elderly.

Pros:
Quiet neighbors, good location, don’t have to pay water bill
Cons:
Garbage management system is terrible, no buzzer system (package deliveries sometimes have no way of getting in the door and will just leave the packages on the street), landlord does not use email or text message or internet, no elevator, no AC, landlord gets upset if you leave a package downstairs for too long (e.g. if you’re out of town)
Advice to owner:
Give renters a written list of what to do for garbage + recycling, it will make your life and renters’ lives easier. Get an email account.
