Neglectful management and bad communication
Pros
Not much to say here. Mostly clean but sometimes pests would be in hallway for days or weeks with no resolvement
Cons
Management was impossible to reach. Was locked out of my apartment once and had to wait over 10 hours before I received even a response to my calls. Emails would take days to receive a response. They don’t give tenants a way to reach a super or management directly, there’s only an office line that goes straight to voicemail. My broker was usually the one that would reach out for issues, not the actual management. Trash would be dumped in the atrium and nothing done. No garbage chutes or trash system except bins in an alleyway. No a/c in any units.
Advice to the owners
tenants should be able to contact the super directly. having no way to contact anyone in emergencies and never answering the phone for your office line is incredibly neglectful and even dangerous.
Avoid at all costs
Pros
Absolutely none- place sucked
Cons
Stupidly rented here as a young/inexperienced student. Moved in with a roommate who was resigning so assumed the place wouldn’t be that bad, my mistake. Was on the first floor so pests galore (though probably par for the course in this neighborhood) and to make it worse garbage would be piled inside the building inches from my apt door. Never saw a super (google voice number went straight to voicemail) and landlord flora was nasty and delusional. I paid the years rent up front with primarily student loans (19, no co-signer) and when I repeatedly complained about pests, garbage, no heat/hot water, and safety issues she blocked my phone number. Called 311 daily if not multiple times a day because issues would only be corrected after fines were issued. Building also didn’t have an intercom system and since— according to a neighbor— many of the Chinese families had multiple generations and more people than allowed on the lease living in each apartment, door was always propped open bc family members didn’t want to go up and down stairs to let each other in.
