Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for 195 Stanton Street highlight renovated, modern apartments with attractive amenities like elevators, rooftop access, and in-unit washers/dryers. The building appeals to young professionals and post-grads, benefiting from a lively neighborhood near bars. Many praise the helpful super and clean common areas. However, renters consistently mention management's slow or unresponsive handling of maintenance and pest problems, including bed bugs and occasional cockroach sightings. Noise levels can be high due to street activity and a young tenant mix. Package theft and occasional security concerns were also noted. Despite these issues, most residents recommend the building for its location and community vibe.

Nice building, poor management

Pros

Upgraded appliances, nice building, and nice super. Probably one of the nicest options when we were looking for an apartment - paid a little more than our budget, but it was worth for a nicer place.

Cons

Management is unresponsive when issues occur — takes multiple contacts to get them to do stuff. Lots of things broke, but thankfully the super was nice and took care of it (usually promptly)

Great Apartment in LES

Pros

- great modern appliances - never had a single pest issue - nice, open rooftop for all tenants - near fun bars in the LES and East Village - elevator!

Cons

- no sunlight in the living room - one bedroom gets little to no sunlight
