Good First NYC Apt
Former Tenant
Pros:
The apts feel updated with new appliances, and brick walls make the bedrooms a bit more soundproof. Great location, typically the building stays pretty secure and it’s mostly young people who make up the building.
Cons:
Big rat problem in the trash room and the super will simply never respond to your texts. Danny, the man who takes out the trash is so beyond sweet and works hard to make everyone feel safe.
Lots of Gnats and Flies seep into the building because of the courtyard trash room and we did have a mouse problem this year.
Lots of loud drunk kids running up and down the stairs (primarily on weekends which is normal in LES).
The Laundry room is in desperate need for an update. We call it the dungeon, and only 2/4 of the dryers have worked half the year.
Advice to owner:
Update the laundry room to bring better value to your building. Take action for stollen packages, and maybe re-allow rooftop access.

Small apartments in good location but dirty building
Former Tenant
Pros:
The interior of our individual apartment is relatively new and clean. The location is good. The street is not noisy.
Cons:
The trash area is very dirty and I’ve seen multiple rats. The laundry room area is disgusting. The tenants are mostly young and loud. Average age is probably 24. The apartment is also incredibly small.

Overall Satisfied but Room for Improvement
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice building with wide marble staircase and nice high ceilings apartments. Ideally located. Decent amenities.
Cons:
Some pest issues visible in the building (mice, roaches) but they don't get out of control so they must be taking care of it regularly. The apartments look well renovated when you first move in but things easily fall apart and the super isn't very responsive.
I've also had a couple packages disappear.
