Liberty Toye Review
Former Tenant
Pros:
Staff in the building is great. Very friendly and accommodating. The roof is a vibe. The gym is solid. Fair amount of NYU students. Younger crowd overall. Doesn’t get that loud. Try negotiating the rent if you sign. It worked for me
Cons:
Taube Management is a hassle to deal with at times depending on who you’re working with.
Advice to owner:
Find a new management company

Clean apartment with the nicest doormen
Former Tenant
Pros:
My apartment was fairly clean on move in. The biggest pros for me were the in unit washer and dryer and the doormen.
Cons:
The water pressure was pretty bad and it sometimes took the owners a long time to respond to maintenance calls.

Fake Luxury, horrible management
Former Tenant
Pros:
One of the few buildings in the east village with amenities like a rooftop, gym, doorman. Doormen are super nice and helpful and roof has great views
Cons:
Horrible, and I mean HORRIBLE management. They will take advantage of you and scam you out of every possible penny they can. They are so incredibly rude and frustrating to work with. Will also ignore you after multiple calls and emails. Something broken? Good luck getting it fixed anytime soon. Apartments are fake luxury, cheaply made and a lot of rooms don’t have windows or closets. Building is also a bit of a frat house, lot of young loud people who throw parties, which isn’t necessarily a con if you’re into that No
Advice to owner:
Get new management.

Don't expect management to fix anything
Former Tenant
Pros:
Hallways are clean, elevators work and great roof
Cons:
Management will not clean or fix anything, they will gas light you and hold out as long as possible to fix something. Guy literally tried to tell me the heat wasn't supposed to turn off when it reaches a certain temperature and not having auto shut off was how all heaters work.
Advice to owner:
Fix things on time within a week or two atleast. People pay a lot of money to live here

The owners are extremely irresponsible
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Location - Negotiable rent
Cons:
- The owners are extremely irresponsible and unresponsive— horrible handling of the property - We’ve had SO many issues since moving in, including: broken a/c ALL summer during the worst heat wave in new york, broken fridge/freezer (my meat goes bad in three days), ceiling was leaking from a flooding bathroom upstairs and we were told to clean the floor ourselves, the maintenance men have broken my furniture while failing to fix appliances before, and I could go on
Advice to owner:
Please treat your tenants better

A solid building overall
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Wonderful, friendly doormen and supers - In unit laundry and dishwasher - Quiet building since it was set back
Cons:
- Dishwasher broke several times - No natural light in bathrooms, kitchen/living room - Always hair and dust in the yoga room
Advice to owner:
Replace appliances when people continually report that they stop working! And clean the yoga room more. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Glorified frat house
Former Tenant
Pros:
Amazing location, great gym and rooftop, and can’t forget in-unit laundry!
Cons:
Most people in the building convert the 1/2 bedrooms into 3/4 beds, with fresh out of college grads. The roof turns into a frat party most weekends, and the noise level in the hallways at night is unlivable.
Advice to owner:
Vet your residents.

Worst management company in NYC
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly doormen. That is all.
Cons:
Super thin walls + excessive noise + unresponsive management
The roof looks nice, but it’s full of drunk bros anytime you might want to use it
Oh, and good luck getting anything fixed
Advice to owner:
Hire a new management company

decent property
Former Tenant
Pros:
amenities were amazing, doormen were friendly, elevator was a giant plus
Cons:
super wasn’t very friendly/responsive, amenities would sometimes be revoked at management’s behest, management was hard to work with
