Landlord is an Assh*le
Former Tenant
Pros:
This building has a great location.
Cons:
This landlord in the 80’s & 90’s was a squatter advocate and publisher of “The Shadow” he went by the name of “Chris Flash”. He inherited this and multiple other buildings on the Lower East Side from his uncle. Once Chris acquired the building he began trying to force all of the Rent stabilized and rent controlled tenants out. So he could renovate and bring all of the apartments up to market price. He became the exact type of landlord he advocated against. He took me to court to try and get me out and refused to repair issues in my apartment in hopes I would become frustrated and move out. Greed is what motivates this land lord.
