Required guarantor. Very noisy neighbor. Steam pipe in room was very loud
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, apt had washer and dryer.
Cons:
Required guarantor. The steam pipe in my room was soooooo loud and caused mold because of constant moisture. Our neighbor was unbelievably loud all the time. Raised our rent $900 one year so we moved out (during pandemic).
Advice to owner:
Why the hell do you require a guarantor?

great location bad management
Former Tenant
Pros:
so close to everything like Trader Joes and tons of great restaurants
Cons:
the neighbors on the back patio party every weekend, careful if you have a back facing apartment. management office is not very responsive or sympathetic when you have an issue
Advice to owner:
dont make us call the office 5 times to have an issue resolved

Decent first college apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Nice location in EV, near Target and TJ’s and the L Train. Also close to a bunch of bars and restaurants
Cons:
No washer/dryer, dark lighting, sometimes long wait for building services

It was fine
Former Tenant
Pros:
The maintenance person was usually just a phone call away. The location is great. Landlords were usually receptive, I have certainly had worse.
Cons:
We had a mouse problem for almost the entire time we were there. Dealt with very noisy construction, though that might have wrapped up by now.

Mice in the walls
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location
Relatively responsive for a NYC management company
Cons:
There are MICE in the WALLS. And holes in the weirdest places so that they can CRAWL INTO YOUR THINGS AND BUILD NESTS. They’ve offered exterminator services on rare occasions but one of those times they knocked on the front door at 9 am, didn’t wait for anyone to answer and just CAME INTO MY APARTMENT. They were clearly embarrassed when they realized people were home.
Advice to owner:
Get rid of Anna she is horrible at her job, she sends incoherent abusive emails, she does not respond to any email that requires her to do any work and she creates an incredibly hostile environment between tenant and management. I have personally heard the maintenance workers complaining about how horribly she treats them/ how she needs to go to anger management and is abusive to them. Hire someone else it will go a long way! She has been a pain to work with since the second I signed my lease.

520 East 14th Street
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location was nice
Cons:
The place was infected with cock roaches. Throughout our 8 months living there the problem never got better. We made numerous completes to management and spent lots of our own money trying to solve the issue. Management could find no solution at all to the problem. We were able to end our lease early to unhealthy living conditions. I highly recommend not living here. While the price might be affordable it is not worth the disgusting apartment and management is extremely rude and dismissive.
Advice to owner:
FIX THE COCKROACH ISSUE!!!
