fine but poorly mantained

Pros:
they redid the water heater and it lasts longer
Cons:
laundry machines are broken, heat is constantly broken, people buzz the doors all hours
Advice to owner:
- get the digital doorbell and replace the heater system

Pros:
no pests, chill neighbors, location!!, unit was decently clean kept up prior to move in, maintenance is generally responsive
Cons:
overpriced, laundry sucks, basement sucks (all the roaches are down there), trash smells sooo bad all the time and you can smell it throughout the building, hallways have never been cleaned, tiny units
Advice to owner:
keep basement and laundry and hallways in better condition

Common walkways were well maintained and maintenance is mostly on top of issues.
Cons:
My apartment had a carpet beetle infestation, it was obviously not treated prior to my moving in. One of the two dryers broke and has not been repaired in years.
Advice to owner:
Your prices are too high for such lackluster apartments.

Landlord is cheap but property managers try their best.

Pros:
Laundry in building Good location (pre-corona) It's good for what it is.
Cons:
Laundry doesn't work as of a week ago Landlord provided a smaller and worse quality fridge when our existing fridge broke - wouldn't give us a better one of comparable cost. Lots of package theft recently. Boxes get stolen and people even have the audacity to open your package in the lobby, steal the contents and leave the empty box within an hour of delivery - not landlord fault but they don't seem interested in installing a camera. Landlord is a bank, per NYC records. Cockroaches in the basement. Crime in area has skyrocketed recently. Makes it feel unsafe at night. Make sure you get everything in writing if you're signing lease because there's things that still have not been addressed. They stole our deposit on move out under the pretense that our trash got them fines from the city. Oh and they came into the apartment a week or so before the lease ended while we were not there, moved our belongings to the middle of the room and repainted the whole place, all without telling us
Advice to owner:
Return our security deposit, fire Ali for being a liar
