East village building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Quiet street, awesome location, high ceilings and big windows
Cons:
Management company is terrible, stairwell is filthy, appliances are old. went over a month without a working oven and even longer without working heat. they take forever to respond.
Advice to owner:
Actually care about tenants

Problem after problem
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great apartment layout, lots of windows and light, building is kept pretty clean, great location in the East Village.
Cons:
Property manager extremely slow to fix anything. We have had 3 major building-wide problems in the last year (no hot water, no heat, extremely low water pressure) and the building owners have taken between 1-4 months to fix each problem. Water pressure has continuously been an issue.
Advice to owner:
Fix things in a timely manner. In a city this big you should be able to find plumbers and electricians as needed.

Great but Awful at the same time
Former Tenant
Pros:
Well laid out studio apartments. Honestly some of the best laid out studios in the east village.
Cons:
Didn’t have heat for 3 weeks during the WINTER. Didn’t have hot water for a month. Used to have a lot of trash violations. But it’s gotten a lot better. Trash is actually managed now. Management company really doesn’t invest in this building for example their are ways to fix problems fast in NYC ... it’s just expensive.
Advice to owner:
Care more about your tenants.

If it ain’t falling apart don’t fix it
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, relatively quiet
Cons:
Lots of mice. Steep stairs. No hot water for a month once. Landlord is relatively responsive but patches things up even when should be replaced. Some tenants who have been in building 30 years likely contributing to the pest problem given their apartments aren’t entered. Lots of packages stolen due to subpar buzzer/security.
Advice to owner:
Do a clean sweep as apartments turn over. Actually paint them every few years instead of spots here and there. Find the source of the pest problem. Replace decades old appliances that leak and malfunction.
