Just an Ok Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super responds very quickly to any issue, safe and secure building, close to lots of great things like food and subway stops, and good layout
Cons:
The heat was not great in the winter and the apartment was pretty cold, you can hear mice all in the ceilings and walls and when you see mice management won’t fill in the holes, water leaked from the ceiling multiple times because of the upstairs neighbor, and there was a depressing lack of sunlight on the lower floors

Good deal, cool area
Former Tenant
Pros:
Super is responsive and helpful
Cons:
Stairs could be cleaned more often

Your typical mediocre landlord/super and dingy building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Not a lot of pros. The super wasn’t nice or accommodating but he mostly showed up to fix things, so sure, things got repaired but it wasn’t convenient. Nice lighting on the higher floors. Great location for East Village but a little far on the subway. Pest control addressed our roach and mouse issue quickly.
Cons:
Oven was old and emitted awful gas smell, basically impossible to use. Fridge was not deep cleaned before we moved in. Bathroom is falling apart and the tiles on the floor are coming undone; same for tiles in the shower. The public stairways and building halls were frequently FILTHY and there was once blood splatters trailing down the stairs. Also, the restaurant below us - their kitchen smells and trash pervade the entire building. Packages go missing and super claims he can’t do anything about it, but will call you within minutes if the recycling isn’t done properly. Management is near impossible to contact. Avoid renting here if possible.
Advice to owner:
Get your management together and maybe do more than just the bare legal minimum.
