DO NOT RENT, Rat Infested, No Heat in Winter Months, Extremely Dirty
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Proximity to Union Square, East Village nightlife
- Spacious living room and kitchen for the price and area.
Cons:
- Rat infestation in apartment. Rats scurry around the kitchen and living room and leave droppings every night, even with absolutely no food left out. (landlord informed multiple times)
- Heat not working during winter months and lack of proper sealing led to dangerously cold temperatures (< 50° F) inside the apartment. (landlord informed multiple times)
- Front door kicked in on multiple occasions, leading to homeless people sleeping inside the building. Especially concerning as the corner of 14th and Ave A is a high-crime area.
- Dirty water rising from the bathtub drain when the bathtub is completely off, leaving behind hair, dirt, and other filth on the bathtub floor.

219 Avenue A
Former Tenant
Pros:
Personally it’s an ideal location
Cons:
A lot of problems with plumbing, electricity and gas. Neighbors are disruptive and leave alot of trash out in the hallways. Had some issues with packages being stolen. Super is sweet it’s just the landlord is the problem.
Advice to owner:
Update plumbing, gas and electricity for the safety of your tenants. Take better care of the property
