Worst landlords ever
Former Tenant
Pros:
Beautiful views, good location, big windows, high ceilings, Pets allowed
Cons:
As someone else put it about their supers, “they send the guy but he’s as useful as legs on a snake”. They change supers every few months and they never have keys/lose them constantly. There are many leaks and apts in the building with collapsed ceilings from water damage. The mailboxes are all damaged and broken. They let the trash pile up in the backyard. One of the two front doors doesn’t lock. Mail delivery barely happens, packages are frequently stolen. They are running 2 buildings, this one and 41 1st Ave, on the same boiler resulting in ridiculous gas bills and possible serious safety issues or gas leaks. They have roaches and mice and refuse to address it. They say they have a pest control company but the guy has shown up once in 2 years. They are rude, combative, and downright nasty to their tenants. They have a thousand excuses and never solve anything. Their repairs are akin to a bandage on a gunshot wound. These apartments are like a revolving door of tenants constantly moving out because of the horrible management, lack of renovations I.e. horrible bathrooms that are barely livable, and safety issues, all for a price that is 30% above the rent price of other similar buildings in the East village. Stay away. These people are the worst kind. On the public advocate list of 100 worst landlords.
Advice to owner:
Get a management company to do your job because this business is not for you.
