Building was fine, ownership was sketchy
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great
Cons:
There were loads of roaches
The bare minimum of effort
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, decent price.
Cons:
Multiple infestation problems (roaches, mice). No enforcement of communal rules (noise, pets). Packages stolen from time to time. Common areas like lobby, halls, and elevator were very poorly cleaned.
Advice to owner:
Main thing would be clean the building better.

Great apartment, not so great management
Former Tenant

Cons:
Bedrooms very dark if not street facing

Good location, that’s it.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great and apartment is relatively clean and nice.
Cons:
Management is very unresponsive. The main repairman is incompetent and breaks things he comes to fix. We had cockroaches coming from unsealed holes behind bathroom mirror and were told the building doesn’t have cockroaches. Management is not renewing lease bc we were given a covid deal and they want to be making market rents. They also refused to add our third roommate to our lease because “why would you want to add someone?”
Advice to owner:
Care about your tenants more.

Great location! .... At a cost
Former Tenant
Pros:
Good amount of space and great lighting. The sunlight and view of second ave is what got us to settle for this place. Honorio (the super) and his team are very helpful.
Cons:
There are roaches, scratching sounds (we assume rodents) come from the ceilings at night, mold keep coming back in the bathroom, and the place is constantly dusty even though we vaccum every week. Our fire alarms did not work and did not detect the smoke that poured in from the church fire next door.

The WORST thing about living here is dealing with managment. George Lavian will not let you speak to him. When you finally get a hold of him he is rude and does not let you get a word in. It is very frustrating.
