Great location/"bones" - Horrible Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is incredible being in the EV on the cusp of LES and Bowery. 12 foot ceilings with tin tile and crown molding. Beautiful exposed brick. Heat is paid for by mgmt. Trash is taken out daily. Building residents are quiet and respectful. Large bedrooms for the EV. Beautiful large 7 foot tall windows if you are facing the north.
Cons:
Management responses to maintenance requests are half-assed and never followed through. I have spoken more with other members in the office versus the actual property manager, Jay.

Filthy apartment upon move-in. I had to "fight" to get it cleaned. Broken fridge. Dual front-load W/D disgustingly moldy upon move-in - we spent lots of money to attempt to fix the issue to no avail. It has not been fixed by them after 3 months of this issue being raised multiple times - rendering it unusable. It is now just a giant piece of junk taking up a lot of closet space.

Because heat is managed by the owners - it can get quite toasty on warmer winter/spring days before they shut it off in late April.

It is above an Italian restaurant + a comedy club and next to a bar, so there can be noise from them... but it isn't too glaringly bad. This is more prevalent in the second floor units.

Amazing Location, Shitty Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, the cleaning company hired by management does a great job keeping it clean and has an exterminator come often.
Cons:
Management takes forever to respond, if they respond at all. The specific guy who manages the building named Jay is rude, disrespectful, and doesn’t communicate at all. Literally the worst.
Advice to owner:
Get a new property manager or replace Jay.
