Rat city - Avoid!

- so many rats - could not breathe well - landlord never responds - super is sexist

Hidden Gem on a Busy Street

- Kept clean - Kitchen was renovated recently, large and spacious with dishwasher - Packages feel secure despite walk up building - Super is very responsive
Cons:
- Street noise may be a con to some, but since the building is on the busiest part of St Marks, it's kind of what you sign up for. I was on the first floor, street facing and it did not reach the bedroom. - Not enough outlets, but it's an older building. - The first floor specifically is above Klong, a restaurant on St Marks. They tend to blast music pretty early in the day and you will hear the bass through the floor. It can be slept through but it is noticeable.
Advice to owner:
I adored living here. My only minor suggestion is that window screens would go a long way.

Old building but great area

Pros:
Great area and more towards the west of East Village. The building is old but you have all the basics that are well managed.
Cons:
Single pane windows mean you will get noise but that is to be expected with the area. Being an old building and on top of restaurants, you’ll need to take some basic precautions to prevent any pest issues but these are good habits to take anywhere.
