Sleep deprived and unlawful security deposit practice
Former Tenant
Pros:
East village, good location and is close to college campuses. Large living room space, hence college kids' fav to throw parties?
Cons:
No AC, and not sound proof at all. We had some shitty college kids neighbours who would not stop throwing parties and kicking soccer balls against our wall.
But the worst part is the landlord of this property, who unlawfully asked for 2 months of rent for security deposit ( in which we did not know NYC law only allowed one-month) and did not return a single penny upon termination of the lease. Please please stay away from this property unless you like dealing with people who try to take advantage of tenants all the time.
Advice to owner:
don't withhold 2-month worth of security deposit
