Quiet, great location, just kind of an old building

Pros:
This block is mostly residential so it's pretty quiet despite being in the heart of East Village. My apartment is also inward facing so another reason why it's quiet. My bedroom gets a lot of sunlight but my roommate's room and the living room don't get any sunlight at all. Water pressure is awesome for the shower. Supers that manage the building are responsive and helpful for the most part. Management is another story.
Cons:
Some rooms don't get any sunlight so it feels pretty dark. Management controls when the radiators turn on and off and it's usually off but sometimes on for a short period of time so it gets pretty cold during the winter. I would suggest buying your own electric heater. Management can be pretty hard to reach at times without contacting them multiple times. I've seen cockroaches when I first moved in but I think my cats scared the rest of them away. But it's an old building so whatever.

great area, large apartment, beware of mice

you can’t live in a better area, laundry in building, genuinely a big space
Cons:
i had 13 mice in the entirety of my 2 year lease. i keep my place fairly clean, there are holes near the pipes and barely anything was done about it

plug the holes

Pros:
new super has been great and is trying to keep the place cleaner/better.
Cons:
lots of package thefts! laundry (pre-super) was always broken and definitely needs to be replaced/updated soon. have seen mice in apartment 1-2x. smells weird in entryway.
Advice to owner:
work on building safety and keeping it up to date.

Pros:
The building is conveniently located; the elevator and laundry in building are perks.
Cons:
Responsiveness from management was abysmal. Our shared laundry room was out of commission for weeks due to a fly infestation and the lobby is covered in grime and smells awful. The building has gotten multiple sanitation citations.

Listen to tenant needs

Pros:
some rent stabilized units, nice neighbors, great location and elevator in building
Cons:
laundry constantly broken, management is unresponsive and unhelpful. lobby constantly smells like pee, packages are ALWAYS stolen and management refuses to help or intervene at all despite everyone complaining. would NOT move here again. laundry also only takes quarters and there is no cash/quarter machine in the room, super annoying. no super for months now and no signs of improving. management is also quite rude.
Advice to owner:
get better at your jobs and take care of the building and the tenants. you are ruining this building.
