Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for 152 Prince Street in Manhattan reveal a mixed living experience. The building boasts a prime SoHo location with spacious units and some new appliances. Tenants appreciate responsive supers who live on-site and occasional attentive owners. However, significant issues persist, including pest infestations (cockroaches, rodents, ants), poor garbage management, and persistent maintenance challenges like old noisy radiators and mold concerns. Noise from construction and neighbors can be disruptive, and heating problems are reported during winter. Management is criticized for poor communication and handling of serious safety concerns. Overall, prospective renters should weigh the location benefits against ongoing building upkeep and management responsiveness issues.

Cockroaches, Rats, Construction

Pros

The super Danny is really nice, he is the only person keeping the entire building in order

Cons

The management company is horrible. Without notice, construction began which resulted in all light into an entire side of the building blocked due to scaffolding, and construction workers directly outside windows Mon-Fri from 9-5 and sometimes on weekends, causing unbearable noise. The management did not do anything to accommodate tenants, and even increased rent. Zero light comes into the apartment, making you feel as if you live underground. There were 2-3inch cockroaches everywhere, requiring a monthly pest control service to maintain less bugs. Scratching in the walls is heard frequently, indicative of rodents. There was an ant infestation upon moving in that I removed myself but it may come back for future tenants. Black soot covered half the items in my closet, staining them and making them unwearable.

Advice to the owners

Accommodate your tenants more and at least fix the huge cockroach infestation, get better property managers, and give Danny the super a raise.
