Cockroaches, Rats, Construction
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super Danny is really nice, he is the only person keeping the entire building in order
Cons:
The management company is horrible. Without notice, construction began which resulted in all light into an entire side of the building blocked due to scaffolding, and construction workers directly outside windows Mon-Fri from 9-5 and sometimes on weekends, causing unbearable noise. The management did not do anything to accommodate tenants, and even increased rent. Zero light comes into the apartment, making you feel as if you live underground.
There were 2-3inch cockroaches everywhere, requiring a monthly pest control service to maintain less bugs. Scratching in the walls is heard frequently, indicative of rodents. There was an ant infestation upon moving in that I removed myself but it may come back for future tenants. Black soot covered half the items in my closet, staining them and making them unwearable.
Advice to owner:
Accommodate your tenants more and at least fix the huge cockroach infestation, get better property managers, and give Danny the super a raise.

Black mold poisoning!!! Lazy super who doesn’t do his job
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is great and it’s quiet
Cons:
Have mycotoxin poisoning from living here for 5 years (didn’t find out until I was just about to move out!). Neighbors are a bunch of creepy elderly who are nasty and will mess with your mail, super unfriendly to new tenants while enjoying their $400 a month rent control. Super Juan is lazy and useless and will not do ANYTHING in his job description, while enjoying his discounted rent, even if it is just changing the batteries in the fire alarms in the HALLWAYS not even the apartments when they’re screeching, which is his obligation under law. One of the units had a gas leak from a faulty oven that went undiagnosed for 6 months which is scary because the building could have blown up.
Advice to owner:
Get the apartments checked for mold!!! And fire Juan

Good building but not without a few flaws
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super lives in the building and he is responsive when things come up.
Cons:
There was a small mouse problem when I moved in but the building closed the hole and we had no further issues after that.
Advice to owner:
Could keep garbage room a little cleaner to avoid any pest issues
