Location is everything

Pros:
The best location in the middle of west village, Greenwich village, and Chelsea! Close to everything and anything. Was strongly considering staying at the property but ended up moving to a new neighborhood. Maintenance people were friendly and kept garbage and hallways clean. And refinished stairs are nice. Neighbors were friendly. Outdoor garden is gorgeous.
Cons:
Front door would stick open when it rained. Apartment leaked a lot- many times from enclosed fireplace and once from upstairs neighbors air conditioner. Was impossible to get the super to respond so had to go to property owner or company in order to get a response- pretty sure super blocked me. Biggest con was the pests- I was in a ground floor apartment but it was still wild. Walls and floors are not properly sealed at all. First was cockroaches but they were easy to get rid of. The spiders and centipedes however were RELENTLESS. I am unfortunately well versed in handling bugs and pest control but this was beyond my expectations. They made me wish I was only dealing with cockroaches- not a day passed where I didn’t find a spider or centipede hiding somewhere. I think the cockroaches were actually doing me a favor eating these other bugs for me. The bugs were there well before I arrived living under the floorboards and in the walls, and I’m sure they’re still there now. Dead or live bugs were also frequently seen in the basement as well
Advice to owner:
Super needs to actually respond and handle maintenance requests and building needs to be better sealed and treated against pests
