Good price for what you get
Pros
Landlord/management was very friendly and accommodative of requests especially around end of lease flexibility. Price was really good for what you get - studio apartment that they frankly could have rented for $500 more a month minimum. Studio itself was very spacious for a studio. Was able to have 2 closets, a desk, a sectional couch and a full sized bed in the apartment. Kitchen was smaller but separate and 12+ feet away from living space so doesn’t feel like you’re cooking in your bedroom. Overall really would speak highly about the landlord compared to some other experiences I’ve had
Cons
Main issue is pest control. Had experiences with roaches and mice somewhat frequently in the apartment. One thing entirely out of the control of the landlord- there was some sort of crazy person in the building behind this one who would scream for hours on end at all hours of the night. Drove me crazy and surprisingly still audible even with windows closed. It’s an older walk up so there was some issues with the front door/buzzer not working, and some water pressure issues like the hot water pressure was pulsing so it would go from hot to cold in waves.
Advice to the owners
Get that crazy neighbor some help!
not bad for the price
Pros
decent units, really affordable for the location, not too many issues overall
Cons
MICE!!!! The landlord was pretty slow to take care of the mice issue, they'll only send pest control once a month and I had to bug the super to come help. Also, they converted the basement apartment into a commercial space which is now rented by an extremely sketchy "spa" that's open til 1 AM.
Advice to the owners
be more proactive with pest control, don't let the basement be occupied by an illegal business?
