2016-2019: Good starter apartment
Pros
Unit H. Brand new renovated kitchen for November 1 lease. Walkable to a lot of Manhattan, good subway access
Cons
Electric heat - meaning we had to pay our own electric bills to heat the apartment in the winter. I was poor, therefore I was freezing in the winter. An unhoused person used to camp out on our stoop. I saw someone masturbating on 29th st while making eye contact with me. It's proximity to Penn Station was ultimately a net negative. A lot of rats out front by the trashcan. Me and my roommate got accused of walking loudly by a neighbor below me.
Advice to the owners
Don't make people pay for their own heat. It feels illegal but I'm too lazy and too much time has passed now to prove it.
