Summer sublet (that I would've extended if possible)
Former Tenant
Pros:
Friendly staff and neighbors. Great roof deck. Elevators consistently working. Common spaces clean and well-maintained. Convenient neighborhood with a mix of old and new.
Cons:
There is a lack of enforcement for a neighbor with multiple cats. The hallway constantly reeks of urine, and the street noise can be loud.

Roaches and no hot water
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great
Cons:
No hot water, was told to run my water for 20 Mins and it’s bc the girl upstairs doesn’t run her water enough. Massive roaches, mold on walls( told the walls can’t mold bc they took a class and know) rooftop chairs all broken, glass bottles and garbage everywhere. Rent went up $700 and they didn’t even do anything new to the building. Tries to evict you to get higher rent .
Advice to owner:
Put some money into your buildings .

Old and over priced with great staff
Former Tenant
Pros:
The doormen, handy men, and maintenance guys are on top of everything. They care about their jobs. The building is old and has a lot of charm with the preserved mail shoot and facade.
Cons:
The units are small and over priced. The dryers are always broken and I’ve seen mice in the basement and multiple cockroaches in my apartment, the basement, and hallways.
Advice to owner:
Lower the prices and get an exterminator

Beware
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, and access to subway
Cons:
Beware - my rent in this building increased by over 50% after my first year.
Advice to owner:
This is home - it is cruel to increase rents by this level. You are pricing people out and putting them into a rental market that is impossible to navigate for an average/middle class working professional. You should be ashamed. Keep the increase to under 10% per year.

Great apartment, but very small and walls are thin
Former Tenant
Pros:
The pros: cheap for a doorman building in Chelsea, laundry in basement, cool old-New York aesthetic, good management, roof
Cons:
Expensive overall for the amount of space you get, walls were thin
Advice to owner:
Install soundproofing in walls please!

Good location and decent building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building was kept clean and most amenities were easy to use. Building super is very nice and they were helpful during move out and move in. Fantastic location in Chelsea close to everything
Cons:
Things were frequently shut down or not available- not just bc of pandemic- elevators were very iffy and water was frequently turned off due to pipe issues. Outside building facade was always being worked on and repaired so always construction, even in interior facing apartments. Ubers could never find the address, but that’s very minor. Some front desk staff was friendly but some of the neighbors weren’t at all friendly. Overall decent building

Central location and beautiful prewar building in Chelsea
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Close to 1, A/C/E, Chelsea nightlife, Flatiron -1 block from Whole Foods and 2 blocks from Trader Joe’s -several cafes within a block -24/7 doorman building -roof with great view -elevator -studio size is small but just enough space to have everything I need -Internal marketplace for residents to communicate
Cons:
-Even though it is a prewar building with cinder block walls, I can hear more from my neighbors than I would like -The common areas could use a little more maintenance -The gym is pretty basic

Not too bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
Close to subways and restaurants and grocery stores. The super is very nice and responsive!
Cons:
Lots of street noise, rooftop has been closed for over 1 year, other amenities are an extra cost

Great location!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Everything was cleaned and cared for, we were kept safe, management was excellent with communication and interpersonal skills.
Cons:
More than half of the doormen were intrusive into personal life, and rude to tenants as well as guests. It was a problem. There was ALWAYS ALWAYS construction on the building that would start as early as 7 am and last all day. And when I say all day I mean ALL day. You couldn’t even think. So we had to leave the apartment on more days off than we would’ve liked.
Advice to owner:
None at this time

Great location, doorman building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very chill doorman building, there is a building portal to be able to sell/buy furniture and communicate with tenants, maintenance is super quick and responsive, all studios and 1 bedrooms so although there are 17 floors not too busy, pet friendly, package system is very efficient via email
Cons:
Roof has been closed for over a year without any updates as to when it’s re-opening, make sure to choose an apartment that is not facing the inside as there is no natural light

Building is good, landlords are not
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very friendly staff and good apartments, quick repairs
Cons:
Very inflexible and rude landlords about lease breakage re Covid
Advice to owner:
Be good to people who are renting in your building if you want the rents to keep coming... Work with us to help us get out of our leases. You guys have been really rude and unhelpful. In particular, John Megadlia is very rude.

Former Tenant
Pros:
clean and well maintained. close to many trains.
Cons:
sleazy staff, elevator goes out of service a lot
Advice to owner:
