Good location but terrible building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location but that’s it.
Cons:
The land lord was very responsive. Given a number to call when moving in that was never answered and voicemails were rarely returned. Never received the security deposit or an explanation for this but this was in early 2020 during shutdown.
Advice to owner:
Use a management company.

DON'T LIVE HERE -POOR MANAGEMENT
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location - tall ceilings - location
Cons:
Nothing is up to code There is no second exit in any apartment There was a fire in the building no fire alarms Inside front stairs are falling apart. Railing is unsafe. Definitely not up to code. VERY UNSAFE. The back stairway is very dark and unsafe. The building is filthy. Heat is controlled by the "super" it's always cold in the winter Very difficult to get the "super" to come fix things. Owner non-responsive cannot contact other than by email Appliances are very, very old and in ill repair. Packages get stolen on the daily. When they get stolen there is a video but the landlord will not do anything to secure the front door.
Advice to owner:
Fix the internal front stairs Secure the lobby Increase pest control Have the building cleaned

2 W 16th - you’re going to have issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
Unit had massive rooms, high ceilings, decorative fireplaces, very responsive and nice handy man
Cons:
Unit had mice & cockroaches (even with monthly exterminator visit), multiple days without heat in the winter, fire on the roof last month (destroyed multiple units), the landlord hates coned and will refuse to let them enter the building. If you lose power than god be with you
