Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent tenant reviews for 50 West 34 Street highlight the building's prime location and numerous amenities. However, concerns include noisy surroundings, slow management responses, occasional pest issues, and varying water pressure. Some renters suggest improved communication with management, especially regarding rent increases and maintenance efficiency. Renter Q&A
Q: How does management receive maintenance requests? is it just by phone?
A: No, there’s an online portal where you can submit them.

Q: Any improvements on the pests front?
A: Sure, one can say that. They let themselves into your unit without your consent and spray/set up traps. They don’t send out proper notices or tell you they illegally entered your apartment. The contract states they cannot enter your apartment unless in case of emergency (fire/pipe burst), but they ignore it and do it anyway. Currently going back and forth with incompetent management. Be careful if you have pets.

Convenient but low quality of life
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very conveniently located. You have 8 subway lines right next to the building and penn station is a 8ish minute walk away. Lots of grocery store options and lots of food options.
Cons:
No sense of community, you never really see your neighbors. It's also very loud and touristy outside since it's right next to the empire state building so it doesn't feel very homey. I think it's good if you're a student but bad for long term living.
Advice to owner:
Please stop turning the heat/ac off before the weather fully changes.

Amazing building in prime location
Former Tenant
Pros:
Right near subway, amazing management team and you have all amenities in building which is included in rent
Cons:
The price increase once lease was up was crazy + very loud outside noise if you’re on a lower floor
Advice to owner:
Rent increase needs to be fixed

Its not bad
Former Tenant
Pros:
You're close to everything transit wise. Being in a central location makes it easy to get around. They also use an app for rent payments.
Cons:
I think the situation depends if you have roommates or not. I have a crazy roommate which makes life difficult. They also aren't responsive for issues like the laundry room (dryers and washers being down etc). Recently the hot water has been cut off randomly due to numerous pipe issues in the last couple of months.
