Consistent hot water issues - be careful
Former Tenant
Pros:
On the plus side, the landlady (jacqi) is responsive though that doesn’t help when the hot water problems haven’t been solved in 2 years. If the hot water doesn’t drive you crazy, you’ll enjoy a good location and decent sized 1 bedroom.
Cons:
There are consistently hot water issues in the building and has been the case since 2020. If you’re looking at unit 4F, expect no hot water every few weeks. The landlady will claim that they repaired the boiler, or will make up a bunch of different excuses for it. Rest assured you will still have hot water problems. Your best recourse is to report to 311. The landlady will claim this is an issue with all old buildings (it is not). There is a lack of sunlight on apartments facing 20th street.
Advice to owner:
Fix the hot water issues. There is a significant boiler problem, invest the money to get it fixed.
