Rooms and closets are very big for the price

The building was very old, the finishings were old, and the kitchen, oven, and fridge were too small for multiple people

A good landing place
Former Tenant
Pros:
Very clean, laundry in building, friendly and helpful doorman and handyman, garbage chute
Cons:
A few cockroaches, water heater was often turned off for maintenance (there was always ~a day heads up but happened kinda frequently, elevator maintenance often, Had to argue with the Super multiple times to get our broken appliance replaced (only believed us once we got food positioning bc of our fridge)
Advice to owner:

Classic NY apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
This building is in a great location. It is on a quiet street but a quick walk to every subway and Madison Sq Park. The building super is wonderful. The amenities and square footage are impossible to beat.
Cons:
The building is older so be prepared for things to look/feel a little dated. This is also the charm of the building. The laundry room is very very very small. Mainentance is slow and lacks expertise. The water pressure is less than ideal, especially with the toilet.
Advice to owner:
Invest in quality upgrades, materials, and workmanship. Increase the size of the laundry room and amount of machines. Fix the water pressure! Turn on the heat in the winter!

Thin wall and roaches
Former Tenant
Pros:
Convenient location. Large space. Affordable price. Friendly doorman and staff. Has elevator and laundry in building.
Cons:
Paper thin wall - you can hear neighbors talking if they are loud. Has roaches even if you keep your apartment super clean. Restaurants right next to the building so there’s always smelly garbage at front door. Super can be annoying. Laundry room is small and kinda dirty.

decent place, weird management
Former Tenant
Pros:
super and maintenance people were great. management was weird.
Cons:
We had a huge roof deck that we shared with 3 other units and everything was fine for a year and a half, then out of nowhere management told us we couldn’t be out there, even though it was part of the rent and reason we moved there.
Advice to owner:
stop being weird about the roof deck.
