Good place to live
Former Tenant
Pros:
Huge spaces with great lighting on all rooms of the B column! Good noise reduction between room, which made it nice to work from home. Very responsive super, access to laundry in the building, elevator. The area is pretty centric and residential, close enough to subways.
Cons:
The laundry is in the basement which can get a little messy and dirty, a lot of the machines didn't work properly, can only pay with cash by depositing into a building-provided card. The basement had a lot of roaches and we sometimes got roaches in the apartment as well. It can be very noisy from all the traffic on Madison and 36th.
Advice to owner:
Replace or fix some of the laundry machines

Overall great with some quirks!
Former Tenant
Pros:
It’s a gorgeous, old (1906) building with classic pre-war charm. My favorite part of my unit was the working wood burning fireplace! Really oversized units, the bedrooms are as big as the living areas. Kitchen fit a full size fridge plus an island. Tons of closet space. Laundry in basement is $$ but clean.
Cons:
The lighting can be terrible depending on the unit (lower, back corner units are worse). Water pressure is often terrible and the hot water is extremely finicky (the amount of cold showers I’ve taken is ridiculous). The live in super is kind but not very responsive and the management are assholes. The rent raise is insane despite it being pre war.
Advice to owner:
Be nice to your tenants and fix the damn water!
