Okay but old building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location is super central - walkable distance to so many different areas in Manhattan. The super of the building is relatively very responsive and does his best to support his tenants. Laundry machines were all upgraded as of 2022. There’s an elevator. Rooms + living room were pretty spacious for the price we paid. None of our packages were stolen although part of that depends on how long you leave out your packages for.
Cons:
Building air flow is pretty bad. In the winter it would get too hot and in the summers, the humidity would just be thick and stuck in the air. Bathroom can grow mold quickly and spaces get dirty and dusty. We cleaned our entire apartment once a week and it was still difficult to keep the place sparkling clean. We don’t get sunlight in this area. Our upstairs neighbors must’ve been a gamer because he would curse every morning oh so loudly and we would hear everything as if it was just a thin wall separating us. We were on the first floor with a busy street right outside. I would wake up in the middle of the night, every night or every other night, because of cars driving by and blasting their music at 2am or crazy people screaming during the night (doesn’t happen too often but if it does happen you’ll know).
Advice to owner:
If there’s some sort of a way to generate air flow better in the rooms that would help manage the mold that grows pretty easily
