Old building, interesting units
Former Tenant
Pros:
Washer/dryer is in the basement. Rent is reasonable for the area. The units are interesting and non traditional because the building used to be a piano factory so the walls are really thick - can’t hear the neighbors
Cons:
There are cockroaches. It doesn’t feel clean. Ceilings leak. They’re essentially trying to super glue a really old building. The super is nice but overworked and jobs are often sloppy - esp the ones that are contracted out, eg replacing doors.

Good but not Great
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apartments are spacious, all of the tenants are friendly and the live in super is hardworking and responsive.
Cons:
Landlord is resistant to tenant requests, no package room (things get stolen regularly), conditions in the basement makes using the laundry room more trouble than it’s worth. Walls are paper thin so it can feel noisy at times.
Advice to owner:
Be more receptive and approachable - don’t condescend to the tenants.
