Mice and break-ins
Former Tenant
Pros:
The super is very friendly, apt is in a great location
Cons:
Lived on the first floor of this building for 2 years with mice the entire time. We filed several complaints and had pest control walk through just to tell us they couldn’t figure it out. Saw a few cockroaches as well but nothing crazy. There’s a man in the basement who likes to scream out into the alley angrily as well as some college kids who party outside until 3am and the supers don’t mind. The worst experience living here was finding out the hard way that all apartments within the building have the same exact key. We arrived home one night to two college kids digging through our fridge and were extremely alarmed.
Advice to owner:
I suggest switching out the keys so that everyone has their own individual key and to also look into the mice problem.

Not great, Paul
Former Tenant
Pros:
Centrally located which is very convenient
Cons:
Building management is terrible, doesn’t seem to care about pest issues or holes in the wall
Property manager and super are impossible to reach
Advice to owner:
Please be easier to reach and actually listen to tenants.

Great location, responsive management company
Cons:

Incompetent Management
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location and building exterior.
Cons:
Persistent pot smoke in the halls and seeping into apartment. Owner didn’t care or do anything about it despite this specifically forbidden in the contract. Very attentive to making sure tenant abides by the lease.
Advice to owner:
Care a whit about the quality of life in your building. Instead of complaining about hardship due to vacancies be attentive to reasonable complaints when you receive them, and address them so that residents stay.
