Worst walk up on 57th st
Former Tenant
Pros:
The location is great for proximity to subways & Central Park. The area is safe and close to doormen buildings.
Cons:
- hot water is extremely inconsistent -skinny, slanted, and filthy stairwell - building does not seem stable (cracks in facade and ceilings) - maintenance is difficult to get ahold of/no live-in super - cheaply renovated and hallways are not maintained. Front door lock is often broken and I was locked out on 2 occasions. - ant/pests coming out of windows that were not sealed properly - what else wasn’t done property? - surrounded by hotels and tourists everywhere, there is no neighborhood feel. Bodega downstairs price gauges - people smoke inside the building The management does not care about tenants at all
Advice to owner:
Please have more respect for your tenants

Pied-à-terre in a building ran by satan himself
Former Tenant
Pros:
Location Train access Safety
Cons:
Most of winter it is a battle to get heat and hot water. Landlord is unresponsive or drags their feet. Halls are filthy from the quick facelift they gave the building. The front door is broken, and on two occasions I have been locked in from the inside. Received several violations from HPD Management does not care about the people who live in these units. We are just dollar signs.
