Large apartments, new W/D,
Former Tenant
Pros:
-trash chute on every floor -safe area, across street from police station. Never really see homeless etc. -dogs allowed on case by case basis -live in super, he's a nice guy but also kinda rude sometimes. -locked package room -roof deck -they let you drill holes in the walls, as long as you patch up
Cons:
-pricey washers/dryers, something like 6 or 7 dollars a load. -seen roaches on first floor and basement -they ask for a TON of paperwork when you're applying. asked for my 401k statements too. -some units are renovated with new appliances and bathroom sink/counters -orange parquet floors

Nice Location, Good Apartment
Former Tenant
Pros:
- Convenient area with lots of train options - There are two elevators in a seven story building so you don't have to wait for the elevator for too long - New washer and dryer - Fairly quiet considering the location
Cons:
- View is blocked by the building in front of it - Sometimes the lobby smells like cigarette - Saw a cockroach once in the hallway but never inside the apartment - The front door is impossible to open with one hand. You have to twist the key and the door knob at the same time so you need two hands.

Great building in Midtown
Former Tenant

No cons here for the building.
Advice to owner:

Decent building, decent maintenance, rotten end lease
Former Tenant
Pros:
Decent building with agreeable value
Cons:
At the end of the lease, we were frivolously charged fees 1-year AFTER we had moved out, and as leverage to make us pay, Bettina filed negative remarks against our credit reports and engaged a collections agencies. We've also heard other folks they've done this to, so it's not limited to us.
Advice to owner:
Do not abuse the credit system and charge frivolous fees.

Horrible Management!!! Will Harass You for "Money Audits"
Former Tenant
Pros:
Superintendent was nice
Cons:
random men with this company will email you saying you owe them money a year after your lease end because they "audited" PLEASE PLEASE STAY AWAY. Management is a bunch of frauds, don't expect to get your security deposit back, bugs and cockroaches, very little security (stolen items)
Advice to owner:
Not to be so horrible to tenants and try to get any last dollar from them

Ok building
Former Tenant
Pros:
Landlord was pretty responsive and sorted things.
Cons:
Sometimes the super would be kinda rude. Had a couple cockroaches once. Only really annoying this was that the super always smoked and stunk the hallway.
Advice to owner:
Everything is old and outdated, need to be updated / renovated. Also don’t let the super smoke in the building.

Great building. Nice Super. Poor management
Former Tenant
Pros:
The building is large. Packages are always safe. Neighbors are very friendly. The first floor apartments have backyards, which i really enjoy. Their is a communal rooftop that is very nice. Laundry is in building, it’s usually good as long as you don’t overload it. The super is a nice guy, very responsive.
Cons:
There was a leak in my room. I was told someone would come fix the water damage afterward, nobody came, and a few weeks later I found mold. I had been sick for two weeks because of the mold with a lung infection, and I had called out of work. I had asked management to help with the $200 medical bill, feeling they were responsible, but they told me it wasn’t their problem.
The buzzer to let people in, they need to ring twice, once for each door, which is inefficient. Our buzzer also doesn’t always work and we have to go let them in ourselves. It’s also tricky to open the front door with only one hand, which is inconvenient.
Advice to owner:
Need to care more about residents. We’ve had several issues where we needed to reach out, and received delayed responses, and often the problem was not solved.
