Avoid Living Here - Seriously
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Great location in the heart of Hell’s Kitchen -Nice neighbors -Deli right downstairs and a laundry right across the street -Each apartment is on its own floor so noise is not an issue
Cons:
-Mice, mice, and more mice! the extermination company SUCKS and management will barely help out. They left us in a terrible position for months. -Worst management I’ve ever experienced. You could be having an emergency situation and the building manager won’t respond until he feels like it (once we didn’t have heat for weeks in the dead of winter)- they don’t care about you. We had to send in multiple 311 reports before hazardous things were (barely) addressed -The maintenance man is terrible and either drugged up or drunk half the time. He never answers his phone and when he does, he never follows up. Barely anything gets fixed, common areas are gross/smell weird, and he lets in people who don’t live here so that they can store their things, sleep on the roof, etc… - management knows about this, has proof, but still allows him to to have full access to the building. He has also gotten aggressive with a few tenants.
TLDR; DON’T live here if this building is still being managed by Maxwell Kates
