Building in great area!
Former Tenant
Pros:
Brownstone with laundry facilities in a wonderful area.
Cons:
Unless you remind owner/management and/or bring issues to their attention, building maintenance ( but not including garbage removal: and that only happens b/c they’d get fined otherwise), can get terribly unkempt. The biggest problem has been the many incidents of rats in the garbage area, including their making a nest/living space inside downstairs utility closet. Worst aspect of this is that outside light for this entrance + garbage area ( and in halls, stairways, basement laundry area ) are frequently out. Not uncommon to lift a garbage lid and see a rat shoot out.
Advice to owner:
Keep on top of rodent and insect infiltration. Also that garbage in laundry area gets removed regularly. Lightbulbs for stairways, laundry area, hallways. Most important: outside light for garbage area is out 99% of the time. Not uncommon to lift a garbage lid and see a rat shoot out.
