Excellent landlord and great location!
Former Tenant
Pros:
-Family owned. Landlord and super are very responsive to requests. Only experienced minor issues and they were very quick to respond each time.
-Close to central park and major subways.
-Building is serviced each month by a pest control company and offers each unit service (paid for by the landlord). Never had an issue with bugs here.
-Beautiful exposed brick and charming historic touches preserved well.
-Not much transience. Most people in the building have been living here for years.
-Building has a really cool history in the art scene.
-While the tenants usually keep to themselves, neighbors are very friendly and there is a community-oriented vibe.
Cons:
-Old building so there is poor insulation. Difficult to heat/cool. Summers are okay but bedroom can get cold in the winter even with the heat.
-Noise does travel between apartments very easily. Most people have rugs to limit noise. Walking around in boots and heels inside the apartments is discouraged.
Advice to owner:
No advice, just thanks for being so great!
