Management is non responsive/poorly maintained
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great location, large bedrooms
Cons:
elevator out of service for several months (and they only offered to have someone run the service elevator on M-F, 9-5pm after a lot of outcry) in 2023; water temperature issues (sometimes no hot and/or cold water); water pressure poor; hallways (other than main floor) never mopped; garbage/recycling inconsistent removal; laundry room had no working machines for many, many months; broken light fixtures in the fire stairs when we had no choice to walk up/down them during elevator outages- despite multiple requests to fix; packages stolen constantly; overheated. Owners/ management do not care about their tenants. They do not reply to emails, phone calls, 311 complaints, etc. Also they’ve raised rent over $2500 in 2 years.
The building is in a great location near the 1/2/3 train. Although this also has a downside as there is a heavy concentration of homeless individuals in the surrounding area. It is on the block of Fairway supermarket, which is great but also brings putrid smells (esp in the summer) and double-parkers.
Cons:
The bell system was broken the entire time I lived there resulting in package theft. The "laundry room" had 3 washers and 2 dryers. None of them worked properly and I wound up having to send my laundry out. There were a lot of roaches- I dont think it was because the tenants are unclean but because the building structure has many holes and crevasses that were not properly closed. It is an old building and it has not been properly maintained over the years. The landlords are completely unresponsive, its impossible to reach them. Finally, they have been raising the rents 60%!!!! Totally not worth it. For the rents they are asking, you can find a building with working amenities in the same area, which is exactly what I did .
Advice to owner:
Be ethical. Your tenants are people- people with families, elderly people, students, working professionals. They don't deserve to be ignored. They dont deserve to live with broken amenities. And they certainly don't deserve to be forced out of their homes by unethical, unjust rent increases.

Former Tenant
Pros:
Lovely neighbors. They do not deserve the treatment they’re getting.
Cons:
Horrible management. Raising rents over 50% but not fixing amenities. Management is absentee- they do not respond to emails or answer calls.
